Basic Course Preparation

In this two-day course we will teach you the general steps and methods in the production of thin sections from hard rocks. Through practical demonstrations and exercises we will further deepen your knowledge of these processes.

You can also bring your own samples to the course in order to process them, however please remember that we are unable to exceed a certain volume due to time restrictions.

Should you not have any samples of your own, we will be able to provide various types of samples.

The number of participants is currently limited to four.

This two-day course at our lab in Potsdam costs 800 Euros per participant. This does not include accommodation. Refreshments will be served.

One-on-One Training and Consultancy on Thin Core Production

In one-on-one training courses we will be able to address your individual wishes and problems using your sample material. For this reason we will ask you to describe your material or to send us a sample in advance so that we will be able to plan the necessary time-scales for the training.

Depending on the time-scope courses will range from one to three days. This special course will cost 600 Euros (one day), 900 Euros (two days) and 1200 Euros (three days) per participant. This does not include accommodation. Refreshments will be served.

Introduction and Information on Lake Sediment Drilling

Here we would like to present to you the variety and possibilities in the sampling of lake sediments, water samples and other lake proxymeters.

Should you be interested in purchasing particular systems we are happy to make you an appropriate offer.

During the one-day course we will introduce you to the work with small devices (short core systems, water sampling scoops) and inform you about UWITEC’s sediment core burr system.
Practical exercises with short core systems are scheduled and are currently being developed. The number of participants is limited to six.

Costs per participant: 110 Euros
